What Pinoys worry about when traveling
QUEZON CITY, METRO MANILA – If there is one huge problem that Filipino tourists have, it lies in the fact that they cannot seem to readily decide where to go.
A global survey by travel search website Skyscanner showed that among its Filipino respondents, 64 percent said they are stressed out when deciding what place to go to.
Another 21 percent of Filipino respondents said affordable flights is another 'stress factor' when making arrangements to travel.
Surprisingly, other stress factors are low: the quality of airport (2.67 percent), accommodation (1.91 percent), dates (2.60 percent), finances (1.84 percent), and passport issues (5.92 percent) are among the least worries of Filipino travelers.
Apart from domestic travel, among the other preferred destinations of Filipino travelers include Singapore, United Kingdom, United States, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Thailand.
The survey, which covered 20,000 respondents from 12 countries, included the Philippines.
Skyscanner Philippines Market Development Manager Janet Ranola said in a statement that the results for the Philippines indicated the need of Filipino travelers to find stress-free travel search tools, noting that searching for places to go to and the availability of affordable flights need to be addressed.
“With most of the countries surveyed highlighting the search for cheap flights as one of main source of stress for many travelers, the need for the best value-for-money deals becomes essential,” she said.
Skyscanner, which claims to be Europe’s leading travel site focusing on global travel information, conducts regular surveys on best travel destinations.
More recently, Skyscanner came out with a report on the rudest nations for travelers, with the Philippines being among the least rude people, based on a survey of 1,200 global respondents.
